Minutes before they adjourned, \u201cwe need to talk about another location for a fieldhouse,\u201d on that site, suggested commissioner Steve Engel. \u201cThe seed is planted,\u201d agreed chairman Robert Rollins.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It was evident the board was moving in that direction. At the last meeting, commissioners gave the club\u2019s management two weeks to respond to the district\u2019s agreement. Also at issue was the use of the term \u2018concessionaire,\u2019 the undetermined size of the building, and the time it could take to raise the money and design and construct the property, as much as 10 years. Miranda took issue with the term \u2018concessionaire,\u2019 and asked for more time to explore the issue with their own legal counsel.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But that wasn\u2019t enough to persuade commissioners.\u00a0Engel\u2019s vote came \u201cvery reluctantly and painfully\u201d as a Boys Club kid himself. He said his main concern was \u201cbulletproofing\u201d an agreement so no lawsuit could emerge later. \u201cI\u2019m not sure this is the right place,\u201d commissioner Erin Wright said after having second thoughts.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Boca\u2019s Boys &amp; Girls Club is in the city\u2019s Sand Pine Park, and this site was approved for a larger building.
