A 40-year-old woman was chased by a masked person in Philadelphia around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, police said.Philadelphia Police Department<\/p>\n
The masked person held a phone in front of the woman and repeatedly asked, \u201cAre you ready to die?\u201d police told NBC Philadelphia<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cThe offender made threatening comments as they approached causing the complainant to stumble and sustain injury,\u201d the police statement said.<\/p>\n Minutes earlier, the masked person had been spotted harassing pedestrians near 15th and Chestnut streets and being denied service at a Dunkin\u2019 location, Philadelphia Police Capt. Jason Smith told NBC Philadelphia.<\/p>\n The masked person, carrying a distinctive blue plaid backpack, was last seen ducking into SEPTA\u2019s Suburban Station<\/a>.<\/p>\n Police believe the masked person is a man who is about 5-foot-8 and from 16 to 20 years old, \u201cwearing a white baby doll style Halloween mask with black hair, and a black\/blue plaid backpack,\u201d according to the statement.<\/p>\n Investigators released video and images of the masked person.<\/p>\n The person was wearing a \u201cChucky doll Halloween-style facemask,\u201d Smith said, referencing the killer doll from the \u201cChild\u2019s Play\u201d horror movie franchise.<\/p>\n There had been no arrests as of early Tuesday afternoon.<\/p>\n Police warned in the statement that if \u201cyou see this suspect do not approach, contact 911 immediately.\u201d<\/p>\n While no one was seriously injured in the incident, it had some similarities to a scary situation near St. Louis two weeks ago, in which a 15-year-old boy was accused of stabbing a 78-year-old man to death while dressed as a creepy clown.<\/p>\n The suspect was charged with murder in the killing of John Wesley Allen<\/a>, whose body was found near a bus stop in East St. Louis, Illinois.<\/p>\n Allen, who lived in a retirement community in St. Louis, regularly took the bus to visit his sister<\/a> in East St. Louis, family members said.<\/p>\n
