1 dead, 2 state troopers injured after aircrafts collide midair in Pennsylvania<\/p>\n

Two troopers were injured, and one person has died after a small aircraft collided with a Pennsylvania State Police helicopter in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, Wednesday afternoon. <\/p>\n

During a press conference held by Pennsylvania Police Acting Commissioner Lieutenant Colonel George Bivens and Governor Josh Shapiro, officials said a Cessna 150 airplane and a Bell 407 helicopter collided in midair near Carlisle around 7 p.m. <\/p>\n

Bivens said a police helicopter was in a grassy area conducting routine training when it was hit by a small Cessna aircraft. <\/p>\n

“The Cessna plane, for an unknown reason, veered to the right at the last moment; it struck the helicopter from the rear,” Bivens said. <\/p>\n

Two troopers inside the helicopter were injured and taken to the hospital, there current condition remains unknown. <\/p>\n

Bivens said one person in the Cessna plane did not survive. Their identity has not been released. <\/p>\n

An investigation is now underway. <\/p>\n
