Owner Thomas Roberts said the incident occurred around 9 a.m. Wednesday when one of the chefs arrived for work and saw two men wearing traffic vests sitting near a dumpster in the parking lot. When the chef asked if he could help them, the men reportedly said, “No, we’re okay,” before firing several shots in his direction. <\/p>\n

Newberry Township police arrived shortly after the incident and issued a shelter-in-place order for the area. The nearby Northeastern School District also implemented a “secure response,” preventing anyone from entering or exiting the district buildings. The shelter-in-place order was lifted around noon. <\/p>\n
