Tony Khan has been asked frequently about the future of the AEW Fight Forever video game and whether he will do another one. Based on a new report out Thursday, there appears to be a financial reason why that hasn\u2019t happened yet.<\/p>\n

Insider Gaming executive editor Mike Straw published a brief video Thursday (seen below) where he revealed through his sources that AEW had to take a \u201cmassive loss\u201d of at least $30 million from the development of the game.<\/p>\n

Part of the reason was due to long delays for the game and deadlines being missed. Straw noted the game was originally supposed to be released in 2022 but came out in the summer of 2023 around the time of Forbidden Door.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen games take that long, they take more to make,\u201d he said, also noting that the sales numbers were half of what their initial expectations where.<\/p>\n

Straw didn\u2019t have an update on whether there would be any further developments with Fight Forever as there is no agreement between AEW and developer Yuke\u2019s. However, AEW owns the gaming engine and could find another developer. He said they are interested in revisiting video games \u201cdown the line\u201d but when he asked about rumors they had talked to a third party about licensing, he was told they \u201cdidn\u2019t f*cking know anything about it.\u201d<\/p>\n
