Led Zeppelin<\/a> may be celebrated worldwide for rock anthems like \u201cBlack Dog\u201d and \u201cStairway to Heaven,\u201d but frontman Robert Plant believes fans are missing out on some of the band’s most powerful material<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In a recent interview with Mojo Magazine,<\/a> Plant opened up about overlooked songs that showcase the true innovation of the legendary group.<\/p>\n

\u201cMost people have missed some of the best Zeppelin stuff,\u201d Plant said, pointing to tracks that often go unnoticed.<\/p>\n

He highlighted \u201cFor Your Life\u201d and \u201cAchilles Last Stand,\u201d both from the 1976 album Presence, as standout tracks.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2018For Your Life\u2019, on Presence. \u2018Achilles Last Stand!\u2019 F***ing hell. Just extraordinary that three people and a singer can do that,\u201d he reflected.<\/p>\n

Looking back on the chemistry between his bandmates, John Bonham, John Paul Jones and Jimmy Page, Plant had nothing but praise.<\/p>\n

\u201cReally, they were pulling so much stuff out of the unknown, Bonham and Jones together on \u2018For Your Life\u2019. It\u2019s just insane. And Jimmy, just\u2026\u201d His excitement was quite clear as he remembered the groundbreaking sessions that helped shape Led Zeppelin\u2019s legacy.<\/p>\n

Formed in 1968, Led Zeppelin became one of the most influential rock bands in history. Their fusion of blues and hard rock helped define an era, with albums like Led Zeppelin IV, Houses of the Holy and Physical Graffiti becoming essential listening for anyone who loved the genre.<\/p>\n

Yet, as Plant suggests, deeper cuts like those on Presence continue to deserve more recognition.<\/p>\n

Though the band split in 1980 following Bonham\u2019s death, Plant\u2019s musical journey didn\u2019t end. He went on to have a successful solo career and remains active decades later.<\/p>\n

What Robert Plant Really Thinks About Playing \u2018Stairway to Heaven\u2019 Today<\/p>\n

When asked about performing only Zeppelin hits, Plant offered a candid perspective. \u201cWhat were the hits? How can they be related to now, where do they fit? They fit as a sort of memoir.\u201d He added, \u201cWhen people say that I don\u2019t like \u2018Stairway To Heaven\u2019, I just don\u2019t like the idea of it. These iconic things \u2013 they\u2019re just what they are.\u201d<\/p>\n

Now approaching his 77th birthday, Plant shows no signs of slowing down. In 2019, he formed the band Saving Grace, a departure from the rock sound fans remember, known instead for its acoustic, folk-influenced style.<\/p>\n

The group quickly gained attention, launching a U.S. tour just a year after forming. Their debut studio album is set for release on September 26, 2025, marking a new chapter in Plant\u2019s ever-evolving career.<\/p>\n
