WA-22 is closed near Prosser\u00a0from Byron Road to Ward Gap Road (milepost 29-31) due to fire activity. This is per WSDOT.<\/p>\n

Evacuations have been downgraded to Level 2 (BE SET) in Yakima County for the areas\u00a0south of WA-22, west of Glade Rd to the Klickitat County line. You still have to be packed and ready to leave at a moment’s notice!<\/p>\n

The Prosser Police Department is asking folks to stay off of WA-22 between Market St and Byron St so folks can evacuate, and so first responders can do their jobs.<\/p>\n

TOPPENISH, Wash. \u2013 Around 8:40 a.m. on Saturday morning, resources arrived on scene to a vegetation fire about 2 miles northeast of BIA Rd 15 and BIA Rd 196, technically a Toppenish address. Although the initial estimated acreage was 25-30 acres (per radio traffic), the latest official update from the National Interagency Fire Center has it at 700 acres.
