\"\"<\/a>Netflix<\/p>\n

Netflix has set an October 30th theatrical release followed by a November 25th streaming premiere for Peter Berg\u2019s new film \u201cThe Mosquito Bowl\u201d. The cinema rollout will be in select AMC theatres along with additional locations across the country for award eligibility.<\/p>\n

It marks a rare Netflix-AMC partnership, the first since \u201cKPop Demon Hunters\u201d was released.<\/p>\n

The film follows four of America\u2019s most celebrated 1940s college football players who enlist in the Marines after the attack on Pearl Harbor.<\/p>\n

As they train for the brutal invasion of Okinawa on the island of Guadalcanal, they take part in a legendary football game featuring some of the greatest players in college football history. Of the 65 players, 15 died within a year.<\/p>\n

Nicholas Galitzine, Bill Skarsg\u00e5rd, Ray Nicholson, and Tom Francis play the quartet in the film based on Pulitzer Prize winner Buzz Bissinger\u2019s bestseller. Berg and Mark L. Smith (\u201cThe Revenant\u201d) adapted the screenplay.<\/p>\n

Netflix has multiple films expected to be up for awards contention, including Los Javis\u2019 \u201cLa Bola Negar\u201d and David Fincher\u2019s \u201cThe Adventures of Cliff Booth.\u201d Berg is next slated to direct the \u201cCall of Duty\u201d film, which he\u2019ll co-write with Taylor Sheridan.<\/p>\n
