Others, like LSU, are.<\/p>\n<p>North Carolina is one of the ones that are.<\/p>\n<p>Coach Bill Belichick recently acknowledged that the Tar Heels are considering the possibility of making eleventh-hour additions to the roster.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/247sports.com\/college\/north-carolina\/article\/unc-bill-belichick-looking-into-players-after-louisiana-court-ruling-289095856\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">We\u2019ve looked at a number of them<\/a>,\u201d Belichick said Friday. \u201cEach case is a little bit different. If it works, it works. If it doesn\u2019t, it doesn\u2019t. I don\u2019t think there\u2019s anything we\u2019re counting on, but we\u2019re always open to anything that will help the team.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>With G.M. Michael Lombardi on paid leave due to an internal investigation, it\u2019s unclear who\u2019s spearheading the effort. Regardless, the effort is underway.<\/p>\n<p>For coaches like Lane Kiffin of LSU, it\u2019s about putting the finishing touches on a roster that would be good enough to take the Tigers to the top of the mountain. For Belichick, who\u2019s entering his second season after a disastrous debut, it\u2019s about winning enough games to turn down the temperature on the hot seat.<\/p>\n<p>However it goes, the clock is ticking.
