Just about one year after its launch, ESPN is raising the price of its direct-to-consumer app.<\/p>\n
The price of ESPN Unlimited, the all-encompassing tier of the network\u2019s app that includes access to live linear television feeds across the ESPN family of networks, will increase from $29.99 to $31.99 per month beginning September 17, according to the company\u2019s support page<\/a>. The news was first noted<\/a> by Jon Lewis in Sports Media Watch.<\/p>\n Annual subscriptions will also increase. The full-year plan of ESPN Unlimited will now cost $319.99, up $20 from its launch price of $299.99 last August. ESPN Select, the rebranded version of ESPN+ that does not include the flagship ESPN channels, will also see its price increase from $12.99 to $13.99 per month, with the annual subscription also being bumped up by $10.<\/p>\n Lewis reports that those subscribing to ESPN Unlimited through the Disney+ and Hulu bundle will not see a price increase. That bundle will remain priced at $36 per month. According to a recent report by Sara Fischer in Axios, about four in five ESPN Unlimited subscribers are subscribed to that bundle.<\/p>\n It is unclear whether ESPN\u2019s pricing change will impact its other bundle deals with Fox One or NFL+ Premium. Currently, users can bundle ESPN Unlimited and Fox One for $39.99 per month, or ESPN Unlimited and NFL+ Premium for the same price.<\/p>\n ESPN\u2019s decision to raise the price of its direct-to-consumer offering falls in line with the steady price increases of other streaming offerings. Most recently, Peacock bumped its monthly price up<\/a> for the fourth time in four years, with the streamer\u2019s base plan now running $12.99 per month.<\/p>\n
