The unemployment rate was eight-tenths lower than the national unemployment rate of 4.2% for the same timeline.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>While Georgia&#8217;s jobs decreased below the 5-millon mark in the month, following its record-setting milestone in June, to 4,995,500.\u00a0 During the 2025 calendar year to date, jobs for the state rose by 26,900.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The GDOL indicates in their press release that the health care and social assistance sector reached an all-time high employment number in July at 625,500 jobs.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The sectors with the most job gains in the past month were health care and social assistance, 2,800; durable goods manufacturing, 2,700; construction, 2,100; professional, scientific and technical services, 1,500; and state government, 700.<\/p>\n<p>GDOL officials noted that industries where jobs which declined over the month were with\u00a0accommodation and food services, 4,500; transportation, warehousing and utilities, 1,400; finance and insurance, 900; wholesale trade, 900; federal government, 700; information, 700; and other services, 700.<\/p>\n<p>Georgia&#8217;s Labor Commissioner Barbara Rivera Holmes said, \u201cMore Georgians are stepping into the workforce and securing jobs \u2014 a trend that\u2019s held strong for two consecutive months.\u00a0 Meanwhile, the number of unemployed has steadily declined for 11 straight months, resulting in an improved unemployment rate of 3.4% in July\u00a02025, the lowest rate since April 2024.
