The second year of the US Open’s reformatted mixed doubles is set to kickoff on Tuesday and will feature plenty of top talent.<\/p>\n
The event, which is just two days, will offer fans a glimpse at some of the top players before the singles tournament gets underway next week.<\/p>\n

There’s more than just bragging rights at stake: The winning duo will take home a $1 million prize, higher than most prize purses for mixed doubles major tournaments.<\/p>\n
The tournament will feature 16 teams competing across two action-packed days.<\/p>\n
On Tuesday, both the first round and the quarterfinals will be held, followed by the semifinals and the highly anticipated championship match on Wednesday night.<\/p>\n
Matches will follow a best-of-three format, similar to standard doubles events. However, due to the tight schedule, only four games are needed to win a set\u2014except for the championship match, which uses the traditional format.<\/p>\n
If a match goes to a third set, a 10-point tie-breaker will determine the winner.<\/p>\n
Additionally, no advantage scoring will be used, making each deuce point a thrilling, winner-takes-all moment.<\/p>\n
Top seeds Aryna Sabalenka and Novak Djokovic will face Leylah Fernandez and American crowd favorite Frances Tiafoe in a blockbuster first-round matchup.<\/p>\n
Fans will also get to see other headliners such as 23-time Grand Slam singles champion Serena Williams teaming up with Carlos Alcaraz.<\/p>\n
There are three exciting all-American duos: Amanda Anisimova and Learner Tien, Jessica Pegula and Taylor Fritz, and Emma Navarro and Tommy Paul.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Gael Monfils and Elina Svitolina will take the court as a husband-wife team.<\/p>\n
