The filmmaker is staying in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/blumhouse-atomic-monster\/\" id=\"auto-tag_blumhouse-atomic-monster_1\" data-tag=\"blumhouse-atomic-monster\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Blumhouse Atomic Monster<\/a> business, and will direct Sleepover for the company after helming last weekend\u2019s Insidious: Out of the Further. The project is moving fast, with Universal setting an Oct. 8, 2027 release date for the movie.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tChase co-wrote the script with Night Swim filmmaker\u00a0Bryce McGuire. The plot is being kept under wraps, but is described as the \u201cquintessential sleepover nightmare\u201d and is based on an original short story by McGuire.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe announcement comes after Out of the Further opened to $25.3 million domestically, a solid start for the sixth installment of the franchise. Chase has been in the Blumhouse Atomic Monster business for several years, developing various properties before Out of the Further emerged. He previously directed the feature Come Play, an Amblin Partners. The feature bowed at the Halloween box office in October 2020 and was based <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/youtube.com\/watch?si=7uvLM3Rgi9U7MB06&amp;v=YIhjUUeL5j0&amp;feature=youtu.be\" target=\"_blank\">on his own 2017 short<\/a> about a parking lot attendant haunted by a monster who emerges from touchscreen gagets.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tCinescape Entertainment\u00a0is behind Sleepover, working with Blumhouse Atomic Monster and Universal. Jason Blum is producing w,th Chase, McGuire, and Bea Sequeira serve as executive producers. Lilly Tyson oversees  the project for Blumhouse Atomic Monster.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tChase recently <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-features\/insidious-out-of-the-further-horror-sequel-1236679988\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">told The Hollywood Reporter<\/a> he took a personal approach to Out of the Further, even though it was the latest installment in a big franchise. Said the filmmaker: \u201cLook, I know it\u2019s the sixth\u00a0Insidious\u00a0movie.\u00a0Who cares? It\u2019s just a franchise movie. But we didn\u2019t treat it that way. I really treated\u00a0Out of the Further\u00a0like I was trying to make the\u00a0Citizen Kane\u00a0of\u00a0Insidious\u00a0movies, and it felt that way on set.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tChase is repped by CAA, Gang Tyre, and The Initiative Group.
