loading=\"lazy\"\/>RALEIGH, N.C. \u2014<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"0\">NC State University welcomed astronaut and alumna Christina Koch back to campus Monday for a \u201cTo the Moon and Pack Again\u201d homecoming celebration.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"1\">Students packed the event to hear from Koch, whose career has included the longest recorded spaceflight by a woman, participation in the first all-female spacewalk and a trip to the moon.<\/p>\n<p><img src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/04a9e082-be54-476e-9e7c-e5f5f78acd41.jpg\" alt=\"Image no longer available\" width=\"100%\" height=\"auto\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" draggable=\"true\" class=\"css-fphibt\"\/><img src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/04a9e082-be54-476e-9e7c-e5f5f78acd41.jpg\" alt=\"Image no longer available\" width=\"100%\" height=\"auto\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"css-hr9vxw\"\/><\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"3\">Before becoming an astronaut, Koch earned three degrees from NC State. <\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"4\">During the homecoming, Koch shared stories about her time at NC State and the role the university played in her career.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"5\">The university also honored Koch by naming an engineering building after her.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"6\">Koch said being viewed as a role model can feel overwhelming, but she hopes to encourage others pursuing ambitious goals.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"7\">\u201cIt is to just look at people that might be looking up to me, to tell them I see them, to tell them that their dream matters and that they can do it,\u201d Koch said.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"8\">The celebration included music from the university\u2019s pep band and drew students who arrived hours early for a chance to see Koch.<\/p>\n<p
