Queens of the Stone Age<\/a> have officially announced their new album, Perfecth, set to arrive on October 30th via Matador Records. Ahead of its release, the band has unveiled the new single \u201cInsignificant Other.\u201d<\/p>\n

Perfecth\u00a0is the follow-up to the follow-up to 2023\u2019s In Times New Roman\u2026, and QOTSA\u2019s ninth album overall. The LP was teased last week in a bloody promo video<\/a> starring frontman Josh Homme and guitarist-keyboardist Deam Fertita, although that clip had deceivingly mentioned a September 30th release date.<\/p>\n

As noted, QOTSA have unleashed the track \u201cInsignificant Other,\u201d which follows last month\u2019s single \u201cEasy Street.\u201d<\/a>\u00a0 Homme says of the new tune, \u201cIt\u2019s a song about distance. About how someone can be your entire world only to simply vanish. And about the strange vertigo of being on the receiving end of that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Regarding the album title, Homme explained, \u201cNothing in this world is perfect, but everything seems to be \u2018perfecth.\u2019 And that title is funny when you\u2019re in a group, but it ain\u2019t so funny when you\u2019re alone.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery song sounds like it\u2019s from a different world,\u201d Homme added of its nine tracks. \u201cAnd that\u2019s on purpose, because it\u2019s trying to stitch together all these emotions revolving around love, lust, foolishness, and the sort of wisdom that comes as a gift from all that.\u201d<\/p>\n

In addition to the album news and the single release, QOTSA have unveiled the new comedic \u201cBig Chongus\u201d promo clip starring the band members and their pets.<\/p>\n

Perfecth, which was produced by Homme and his QOTSA bandmate Michael Shuman, is available for pre-order<\/a> in multiple formats, including a limited deluxe edition featuring a gatefold LP package that includes handwritten lyrics, stationary, stamps housed inside a custom envelope, and \u201ca bespoke piece of art temporarily placed in a custom pocket.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, QOTSA will kick off the second leg of their North American tour<\/a> supporting Foo Fighters on September 15th in Regina, Saskatchewan, with tickets to the upcoming shows available here<\/a>.<\/p>\n
