Friendly Fires<\/a> have returned with a new single, \u2018Lose All Your Friends\u2019 \u2013 you can listen to it below.<\/p>\n

The song marks the first music from the Mercury Prize<\/a>-shortlisted band since their third studio album, 2019\u2019s \u2018Inflorescent\u2019<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Released via LAB Records, the tune marks a \u201crebirth\u201d of Friendly Fires, who are now a duo comprising Ed Macfarlane and Edd Gibson. The creative process for their new material \u201cshifted toward a return to their roots\u201d, according to a press release.<\/p>\n

The resulting songs consist of garage recordings, more live drums, less polish, and are more human and raw, as the pair embrace organic and natural sounds. \u201cRebirth is in the air as they welcome change and new challenges,\u201d the description adds.<\/p>\n

Sharing \u2018Lose All Your Friends\u2019 on social media, Friendly Fires teased<\/a>: \u201cThis is just the beginning\u2026 Let\u2019s go.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the euphoric and optimistic chorus, Macfarlane sings: \u201cIf you lose all your friends tonight, it\u2019s alright\/ Don\u2019t be afraid of change\u2026\u201d The dazzling instrumental brings a blend of shimmering synths and guitar, backed by a groovy rhythm section.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The duo embrace heading into the unknown on the sun-kissed song, as they acknowledge that life\u2019s missteps are all part of how we arrive where we\u2019re meant to be.<\/p>\n

\u201cSometimes you have to lose everything to start again. Embrace the chaos. Take a chance. Don\u2019t be afraid of change,\u201d Friendly Fires explained as they ushered in their new era.<\/p>\n

The band are set to open for Two Door Cinema Club at a trio of dates in New York and Boston<\/a> next month, before appearing at Bugged Out 2026 in London this October.<\/p>\n

Friendly Fires have played various UK shows over the summer, including slots at festivals such as Lovebox<\/a> and Truck<\/a>. They supported Two Door Cinema at their huge gig at Cardiff Castle this month<\/a>, too.<\/p>\n

In 2023, Friendly Fires expanded their 15th anniversary plans for their debut album, announcing a full UK tour celebrating the 2008 LP<\/a>. This coincided with new reissues of their classic single \u2018Paris\u2019.<\/p>\n
