As Richard searches for meaning, he is pulled into an alpha-male group that promises answers and pushes him further off course.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tDietz, who\u2019s coming off a festival run for his short\u00a0Supper, told us: \u201cWith everything I do, I\u2019m always raging against something.\u00a0THICK\u00a0grew out of the absurdity of the alpha-male movement, men\u2019s obsession with masculinity, and wanting to find the gut-wrenching bottom of why men are turning to the manosphere for answers. It\u2019s funny. It\u2019s uncomfortable. It\u2019s heartbreaking. From our very first conversation, Emory understood the mission and I\u2019m stoked to bring this story to life with him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThick\u00a0will be produced by Thomas Hartmann (Hal &amp; Harper), Allison Dietz, and Dietz under his Tammie\u2019s Son banner. Seth Yanklewitz and Ben Pollack are casting the film.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tKnown for roles in films like\u00a0Brooklyn\u00a0and\u00a0A Place Beyond the Pines, Cohen is coming off of turns in Josh Safdie\u2019s Oscar-nominated\u00a0Marty Supreme, as well as\u00a0Roofman, from\u00a0Pines\u00a0helmer Derek Cianfrance. Upcoming, he\u2019ll also be seen in Parker Finn\u2019s Paramount remake of the 1981 psychological horror film\u00a0Possession.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tSpeaking to\u00a0Thick, Cohen commented, \u201cI\u2019m incredibly grateful to be a part of this project. Ever since I read and saw Joshua\u2019s short film\u00a0Supper, I\u2019ve been looking forward to finding something to work with him on. His writing and characterization is so dark, vivid, and interesting.
