The US Open got underway this week, and if you\u2019re planning a trip out to Flushing Meadows this year, there\u2019s a window worth knowing about before you buy tickets. This week is Fan Week, and entry is free if you register in advance online. Starting Sunday, August 30, paid tickets are required for the main draw matches, so if you\u2019re looking to catch the higher-profile action, that\u2019s when you\u2019ll want to visit the tennis stadiums in Queens.<\/p>\n

For kosher-keeping fans making the trip at any point during the tournament, there\u2019s a reliable option on site. The kosher stand at the US Open is run by Prime Kosher Sports (PKS), the same team behind certified kosher concessions at Yankee Stadium, Citi Field, Barclays Center, and the Prudential Center in Newark. PKS also operates a brick-and-mortar spot, PKS by the Shore, in Deal, NJ, and this past May they launched PKS Kosher Market at Philadelphia International Airport <\/a>in Terminal A-West, which is the first fully kosher and halal grab-and-go market inside a major US airport.<\/p>\n

At the US Open, the PKS stand is tucked all the way at the end of the kosher food court, right near the entrance to Arthur Ashe Stadium. It\u2019s hard to miss if you walk to the end of the food court.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s on the Menu<\/p>\n

The menu covers grab-and-go stadium staples with a few classics mixed in. Sandwiches are the headline items: a BBQ brisket sandwich and a hot pastrami sandwich each run $26, and other wraps and sandwiches are $21. For something lighter, there\u2019s Italian sausage with peppers and onions for $16 and an all beef frankfurter for $12. Snack options include a potato knish, baked pretzel, and popcorn, each priced at $9, along with candy.<\/p>\n

On the drink side, you\u2019ll find Heineken and Heineken Silver 16oz cans for $16.50, bottled soda (Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, Sprite) for $7.50, Snapple Iced Tea in lemon, peach, and diet peach, and evian in both 500mL and 750mL sizes.<\/p>\n

Prime Kosher Sports at the US Open is located at the end of the kosher food court at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, near the Arthur Ashe Stadium entrance. Kosher certification is marked on the stand\u2019s signage on site.<\/p>\n
