The Philadelphia Flyers are no doubt going to have an interesting 2026-27 season. They could make the playoffs and build off of their overperformance last season, or take a slight step back as more and more young players take larger roles and we look towards the future.<\/p>\n
Part of looking to that future is getting a good look on some key prospects, but where are these prospects going to be playing next season?<\/p>\n
In some act of organization, we\u2019ve decided to compile a list of every single prospect in the organization and where they are projected to spend their 2026-27 season. Whether it\u2019s in the AHL one step away from the big leagues, or in a European junior league thousands of miles away, we got you covered.<\/p>\n
Of course, we didn\u2019t include players like Porter Martone, Alex Bump, Denver Barkey, or David Jiricek since they are basically locked into NHL jobs. We all know that.<\/p>\n
Oliver Bonk, RD<\/p>\n
Projected 2026-27 team: Lehigh Valley Phantoms (AHL)<\/p>\n
While we\u2019re fairly confident that Bonk will at least start the season with the Phantoms, there is certainly a world where he comes to Flyers training camp with such motivation and fire that Danny Briere has his hand forced. While he can certainly look better than David Jiricek and still be sent down just because of the difference in waiver exemption, if Bonk is so much better, and it would be obvious that having the 21-year-old blueliner on the team makes the Flyers a better hockey team, then he could be up in the NHL.<\/p>\n
But the expectation is he\u2019s down in the AHL.<\/p>\n
Jack Berglund, C<\/p>\n
Projected 2026-27 team: Farjestad BK (SHL)<\/p>\n
Earlier this month, Jack Berglund made the official decision to head back to the SHL and play for his hometown club Farjestad instead of coming to play in the AHL. He is signed to an entry-level contract with the Flyers, so it is technically a loan. The 20-year-old center is most likely spending his final season overseas before coming to North America full-time starting next season.<\/p>\n
Jett Luchanko, C<\/p>\n
Projected 2026-27 team: Lehigh Valley Phantoms (AHL)<\/p>\n
Let him cook. Jett Luchanko has been thrashed around from team to team over the last two years and now, the 20-year-old center prospect just needs to chill and really re-find some of his offense. It\u2019s a massive season for him and while he\u2019s going to get a look at Flyers training camp, he\u2019ll probably start the season with the Phantoms and hang out there for at least a few months.<\/p>\n
Yegor Zavragin, G<\/p>\n
Projected 2026-27 team: Metallurg Magnitogorsk (KHL)<\/p>\n
The Flyers\u2019 top goalie prospect is already playing some games as the KHL preseason is underway and is putting in some highlight performances.<\/a> Zavragin is most likely going to stay over there in the KHL for the next two seasons, as he actually now gets an opportunity to play some games after an awkward season. It might not be Metallurg, since he can be traded once more, but his contract runs through the 2027-28 season.<\/p>\n Jack Nesbitt, C<\/p>\n Projected 2026-27 team: University of Michigan (NCAA)<\/p>\n Jack Nesbitt is making the big jump from the OHL to the NCAA next season and will truly be tested. Could he have a Porter Martone-esque season where he puts on 20 pounds of muscle and really shines as a top prospect? It\u2019s not impossible. How Nesbitt performs in his freshman year is really going to set the tone for the next few seasons. If he pops off and looks great and his skating looks so much better, he could be signed and get in some pro games before the end of the season. If he struggles a bit, then he will remain a Wolverine for at least one more year and could see his stock lower.<\/p>\n Shane Vansaghi, RW<\/p>\n Projected 2026-27 team: Michigan State University (NCAA)<\/p>\n Another Flyers prospect in college that needs to have a big year. Shane Vansaghi has been mildly disappointing since the Flyers drafted him in the second round of the 2025 NHL Draft. Now heading into his senior year at Michigan State, and the aggressive winger should show more offensive pop than he has in his previous two seasons. If he does, we could see him in Allentown (or Philadelphia) before the season is over.<\/p>\n Maksim Sokolovskii, LD<\/p>\n Projected 2026-27 team: London Knights (OHL)<\/p>\n The Flyers\u2019 most recent first-round pick is committed to the University of Maine so that he can go and potentially cause chaos with his 6-foot-8 frame on a blue line in college hockey, but before that he will spend one more season with the London Knights in the OHL.<\/p>\n Throughout last season, Sokolovskii didn\u2019t really get an opportunity in the top four, but should really see a bump in role and maybe he can put together a season that makes us see the vision a little clearer. Still, the first post-draft season in most likely a few more years of development before he really becomes an NHL option.<\/p>\n Carson Bjarnason, G \/ Aleksei Kolosov, G<\/p>\n Projected 2026-27 team: Lehigh Valley Phantoms (AHL)<\/p>\n It\u2019s just easier to lump these two together. The existing goaltending tandem down in the AHL will remain in the AHL next season as they hopefully take another step further in their development.<\/p>\n What else is there to say? We hope they get better.<\/p>\n A bunch of young Phantoms skaters<\/p>\n Instead of listing off a bunch of players who are now just one step away from the NHL, it\u2019s just easier to put them in a big list, since this is where they will start and most likely finish their upcoming seasons. Alex Ciernik, Noah Powell, and Cole Knuble are some forwards who will be having their first full seasons in the AHL. Ty Murchison is someone we\u2019re all familiar with, who will be in the AHL once again. Devin Kaplan will continue his development with the Phantoms. There are probably some existing Phantoms we could throw in here, but is Helge Grans really considered a prospect still?<\/p>\n Some of this group is certainly interesting, especially the first-timers, but we are in such a wait-and-see mode and even if they take considerable steps forward, we are probably waiting until next season to see them considered for an NHL job. But Allentown is where they will be.<\/p>\n Spencer Gill, RD<\/p>\n Projected 2026-27 team: Lehigh Valley Phantoms (AHL)<\/p>\n We could\u2019ve lumped Spencer Gill in with the group above, but since he\u2019s the prospect with the highest profile who is coming to the AHL for the first time, it feels like Gill should be highlighted a bit more. Injuries ruined a good part of his development in the QMJHL and now the lanky right-handed defenseman has a chance to firmly establish himself as a decent Flyers prospect directly in the organization.<\/p>\n It\u2019s going to be an incredibly interesting season for the 20-year-old.<\/p>\n Matthew Gard, C<\/p>\n Projected 2026-27 team: Seattle Thunderbirds (WHL)<\/p>\n
