The Heat plan to sign free agent forward Keshad Johnson<\/a> to a two-way contract, league sources tell Michael Scotto of HoopsHype (Twitter link<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Johnson, who spent four seasons with San Diego State prior to transferring to Arizona for his \u201csuper senior\u201d season in 2023\/24, went undrafted a couple years ago. He quickly signed a two-way contract with Miami and was promoted to a multiyear standard deal in late December of 2024.<\/p>\n

The 25-year-old has played a modest NBA role in his first two seasons with the Heat, averaging 3.7 points and 1.9 rebounds on .531\/.314\/.658 shooting splits in 48 combined appearances (7.9 minutes per game).<\/p>\n

However, has been a standout at the G League level with Miami\u2019s affiliate team, the Sioux Falls Skyforce, including averaging 17.4 PPG, 8.6 RPG, 2.9 APG, 1.9 BPG and 1.5 SPG on .515\/.471\/.625 shooting in eight contests last season (35.3 MPG).<\/p>\n

Johnson, who won the 2026 dunk contest in February, didn\u2019t receive a qualifying offer at the end of June, making him an unrestricted free agent. He reportedly<\/a> worked out<\/a> around the team throughout the offseason and now will be back with the Heat on a two-way deal.<\/p>\n

As our two-way tracker<\/a> shows, Miami currently has a two-way opening, so no corresponding move will be necessary to sign Johnson.
