{"id":828379,"date":"2026-08-28T06:48:33","date_gmt":"2026-08-28T06:48:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/828379\/"},"modified":"2026-08-28T06:48:33","modified_gmt":"2026-08-28T06:48:33","slug":"business-advocates-fearful-over-long-term-impacts-of-trade-war-with-canada","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/828379\/","title":{"rendered":"Business advocates fearful over long-term impacts of trade war with Canada"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A looming trade war with Canada has business industry experts and advocates worried and hoping the two sides can hammer out a deal before the September deadline.<\/p>\n<p>The New England-Canada Business Council, which works to strengthen the region&#8217;s economic relationship with Canada, says many industries depend on cross-border trade.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond fishing, lobstering and paper, the council says everything from gasoline for cars to jet fuel and other industries could be affected by an escalating trade war.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;A remarkable number of jobs in New England are directly tied to Canadian exports and imports.
