{"id":828731,"date":"2026-08-28T14:18:11","date_gmt":"2026-08-28T14:18:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/828731\/"},"modified":"2026-08-28T14:18:11","modified_gmt":"2026-08-28T14:18:11","slug":"india-surpasses-300-gw-of-non-fossil-power-capacity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/828731\/","title":{"rendered":"India Surpasses 300 GW of Non-Fossil Power Capacity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"speakable\">India is comfortably on track to meet its goal to have 500 gigawatts (GW) of non-fossil-fuel power capacity installed by 2030, after having just hit the 300 GW milestone, New and Renewable Energy Minister Pralhad Joshi <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehindu.com\/news\/cities\/mumbai\/india-crosses-300-gw-non-fossil-capacity-on-track-for-500-gw-by-2030-pralhad-joshi\/article71397667.ece\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">said<\/a> at an industry event. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Early this month, India announced it had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2296782&amp;reg=48&amp;lang=1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">topped 300 GW<\/a> of non-fossil fuel-based installed electricity generation capacity as of July 31, 2026. This is 60% of the 500 GW capacity targeted to be achieved by 2030.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Solar power led the capacity installations, with a total of 164.59 GW as of the end of July, followed by wind power with 58.14 GW installed capacity, hydropower at 57.24 GW, bio-power at 11.75 GW, and nuclear power capacity at 8.78 GW.
