He also challenged for a major championship, mounting a charge on Sunday at The Masters to finish T3, behind only Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler.

But despite all those years of consistent play, he still managed to do something during round one of this year’s Tour Championship that he has never achieved before.

Photo by Kevin C. But the way he got there made history.

He had a completely clean scorecard, making 18 pars during his opening round. This is the first time he has ever done this in his PGA Tour career dating back to 2013.

Who will win this week at East Lake? 🤔

It’s also the first time anyone has had 18 pars in a round at East Lake in 24 years. Ernie Els was the last to do it during his third round in Atlanta all the way back in 2002.

It might not have been the start that Henley wanted to his Tour Championship, but with his first round he has written his name into the history books.

Join Our Newsletter

Receive exclusive football transfer news and updates twice a week to your mailbox

Follow us on Google Discover Russell Henley has been one of the most consistent performers on the PGA…

[71
427,3332,44686,99,69507
post-828767","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-golf","tag-golf","tag-pga-tour","tag-russell-henley","tag-sports","tag-tour-championship
["GET
