{"id":830061,"date":"2026-08-29T19:10:10","date_gmt":"2026-08-29T19:10:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/830061\/"},"modified":"2026-08-29T19:10:10","modified_gmt":"2026-08-29T19:10:10","slug":"millennium-running-acquires-reach-the-beach-relay-prepares-for-2027-return","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/830061\/","title":{"rendered":"Millennium Running acquires Reach the Beach Relay, prepares for 2027 return"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Millennium Running acquires Reach the Beach Relay, prepares for 2027 return<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wmur.com\/news-team\/01911b0e-b92e-41cf-b642-a2aff97cea31\" aria-label=\"Nicole Poitras profile page\" class=\"css-15eikfp\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/1788030610_465_01911b0e-b92e-41cf-b642-a2aff97cea31_1771385752.jpg\" width=\"48\" height=\"48\" alt=\"Nicole Poitras\" loading=\"lazy\"\/><\/a>BEDFORD, N.H. \u2014<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"0\">After weeks of uncertainty around the status of the race, Millennium Running says it has acquired the Reach the Beach Relay and is preparing for the race&#8217;s return next year.  <\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"1\">The fate of this year&#8217;s race came into question when New Hampshire State Parks denied permits for the race because <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wmur.com\/article\/reach-the-beach-relay-hampton\/73384018\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Ragnar Events owed thousands of dollars in fees from last year&#8217;s relay.<\/a><\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"2\">Millennium Running owner and founder John Mortimer says his company will now be taking responsibility for those obligations. <\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"3\">Millennium Running says it reached the agreement Friday night with Ragnar&#8217;s parent company, FitLab.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"4\">News 9 reached out to FitLab for comment but did not immediately hear back.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"5\">According to Millennium Running, due to the amount of time it will take to meet those obligations and &#8220;the work required to deliver the experience participants, communities and partners deserve,&#8221; the 2026 race is definitively canceled and moved to next year. <\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"6\">Registered teams will receive a guaranteed entry into the 2027 relay, according to Millennium Running. Teams will receive direct communication about registration transfers and other options in the coming days. <\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"7\">Gov. Kelly Ayotte expressed her approval of the race&#8217;s return next year in a statement to News 9.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"8\">\u201cFor more than two decades, Reach the Beach has been an important tradition for endurance athletes in New Hampshire.
