Dolly Parton\u2019s niece, Lainey Mae Parton, wrote an emotional Instagram post<\/a> Saturday confirming that her aunt was \u201claid to rest\u201d on Friday, August 28.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a really hard post for me to make,\u201d Lainey wrote on her account, captioning a slideshow of pictures showing the superstar with various family members. \u201cI wanted to wait until after my granny was laid to rest yesterday before I tried to put any of this into words.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lainey went on to praise Dolly\u2014 the singer was known as \u201cAunt Granny\u201d to her nieces and nephews \u2014 by noting that she was a tremendous source of support. <\/p>\n

\u201cShe always had a way of making me feel like I was enough. She never made my dreams feel too big or made me feel like I couldn\u2019t do something. She believed in me before I even knew how to believe in myself,\u201d Lainey wrote. <\/p>\n

\u201cMost people can think of at least one bad memory with everyone in their family,\u201d she added. \u201cI honestly can\u2019t think of one with her.\u201d<\/p>\n

Noting that her aunt was unable to have kids of her own and thus made all of her nieces and nephews feel like \u201chers,\u201d Lainey heartbreakingly related, \u201cIt still doesn\u2019t feel real that she\u2019s gone. I\u2019m going to miss her voice, her laugh, her hugs, and just knowing she was there.\u201d<\/p>\n

Page Six reported on Friday that Dolly\u2019s loved ones\u00a0gathered at her Nashville burial site<\/a>, Woodlawn Memorial Park and Mausoleum.<\/p>\n

A source also exclusively told us Friday\u2019s gathering was, indeed, the funeral.<\/p>\n

The longtime couple were married for 58 years before he\u00a0died last March<\/a>\u00a0at age 82.<\/p>\n

The lovers famously met outside the Wishy Washy Laundromat the day a then-18-year-old Parton\u00a0moved to Music City<\/a>. Dean was 21 at the time.<\/p>\n
