President Donald Trump unveils a plan to revitalize Joint Base Andrews’ golf courses. Describing the current courses as ‘really bad’ with ‘400-year-old grass,’ Trump announced legendary golfer Jack Nicklaus will design new ‘world championship’ courses. This initiative will benefit young people and disabled individuals, enhancing military facilities.<\/p>\n

President Donald Trump<\/a> will return to a familiar role next month when the 2026 Presidents Cup tees off. Trump was named an honorary chairman for the tournament, the PGA Tour announced Saturday.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s event is scheduled for Sept. 22-27 at Medinah Country Club near Chicago. Trump previously served as honorary chairman of the 2017 Presidents Cup, held at Liberty National Golf Club in New Jersey. He participated in the trophy presentation after the U.S. Team defeated the International Team, 19-11.<\/p>\n

PGA Tour CEO<\/a> Brian Rolapp pointed to the Presidents Cup\u2019s long-standing connection to world leaders, saying, “The Presidents Cup has a proud tradition of engaging world leaders from across the globe and across political lines, and President Trump\u2019s involvement continues that legacy.”<\/p>\n

“His participation will help elevate the event on the international stage while furthering our mission of bringing people together through the game of golf,” Rolapp added.<\/p>\n

This year’s tournament will see a 12-man U.S. Team go head-to-head with a 12-man International Team. Brandt Snedeker<\/a> will captain the Americans, while Australian Geoff Ogilvy will lead the International Team.<\/p>\n

“At the request of the PGA Tour, and its Great new Commissioner, Brian Rolapp, it is my Honor to accept being the Honorary Chairman of the upcoming Presidents Cup, which will take place at the Medinah Country Club in Chicago,” Trump wrote on Truth Social<\/a> in a post later shared by the official White House account on X.<\/p>\n
