\u201cI really don\u2019t care about that kind of stuff,\u201d he continued. \u201cI\u2019ve been at this a long time, and there are times when I won and shouldn\u2019t have won, and \u2026 didn\u2019t win and should\u2019ve won.\u201d<\/p>\n

Washington certainly doesn\u2019t need any more statuettes to cement himself as a screen legend. The actor has 10 Academy Award nods<\/a> under his belt and won Best Supporting Actor for \u201cGlory<\/a>\u201d (1989) and Best Actor for \u201cTraining Day<\/a>\u201d (2001).<\/p>\n In an Esquire essay last year, Washington said that he had \u201cshot dope\u201d in his youth<\/a> and did \u201ca lot of damage to the body\u201d through past drug and alcohol use. He noted God had seen him through the worst, and even mentioned the Oscars.<\/p>\n
