\u201cMost days, we have to turn people away because we\u2019re completely booked,\u201d Grevlos said. \u201cWe completely filled our membership.\u201d<\/p>\n
The public course was built in 1994 and sits along the Big Sioux River adjacent to Good Earth State Park at Blood Run. As part of transitioning owners, it has been rebranded The Creek Golf Course, which Grevlos said also reflects how golfers generally had referred to it.<\/p>\n The new name will be part of a celebration Sept. 1-6 marking the course\u2019s first year under new ownership.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s a grand rebrand,\u201d Grevlos said. \u201cThe sign is up, new scorecards will be here, we have merchandise with the new logo. We found the old ownership and members used to call it The Creek and even had hats made (that said it), so it\u2019s an homage to the past and a new start for the future.\u201d<\/p>\n The new owners have been making improvements to the property, beginning with addressing hole No. 12 to return it to a par 4 hole after flooding took out a bridge in 2019. After working through construction plans involving the waterway with government officials, \u201cthey have officially said we can go ahead with the plan we have to fix it,\u201d Grevlos said.<\/p>\n Crews will perform bank stabilization, remove concrete culverts displaced by flooding and clean up the area before placing a new wooden one-way cart bridge with railings.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd then floodwaters can move through it more easily than it did with cement culverts in there, so hopefully it wouldn\u2019t tear the whole thing down, and if parts of it needed to be repaired, the replacement cost is not as expensive,\u201d Grevlos said.<\/p>\n New irrigation has been put in for the hole, so once the bridge is done, the hope is it will be available for play sometime in September.<\/p>\n Course superintendent Jay Rezac in front of the new hole No. 12 irrigation work.<\/p>\n The plan also is to add back tees to The Creek, \u201cso we will lengthen the course and make it a little more challenging for players who have played many years,\u201d Grevlos said.<\/p>\n Next season, the plan is to structure shotgun events to start earlier in the morning to leave a half-day open for the public. New memberships for 2027 will be available at the grand reopening and include options for annual, single, couple, family, weekday and all-day, in addition to punch passes.<\/p>\n \u201cWe have been very busy and already have a full calendar,\u201d Grevlos said. \u201cMost events \u2026 come back year after year because players love the course, and I think we\u2019re priced right.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n
