Some breaking news is expected this morning, and from what I\u2019m hearing, there will be an official statement later today:\u00a0Matt Winston\u00a0is leaving\u00a0Team Picnic PostNL\u00a0and will take on a management role as sports director at the\u00a0Decathlon CMA CGM Team\u00a0in 2027.<\/p>\n

Winston joined Team Picnic PostNL in 2019 and has been part of much of the team\u2019s success. From what I understand, Winston, who worked at British Cycling and One Pro Cycling, handed in his resignation a few weeks ago and will step down from his full-time duties at the end of the current road season. <\/p>\n

Over the years, several teams had tried to bring Winston over from Team Picnic PostNL, but he has remained loyal to the team\u2019s project. <\/p>\n

The team have struggled for results this year on the road, but that doesn\u2019t appear to be part of Winston\u2019s decision-making. From what I understand, there\u2019s no animosity with the split; Winston simply felt that it was time for a new challenge, and that the offer from Decathlon was too good to turn down. <\/p>\n
