Maps show the forecast path."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A tropical storm warning and hurricane watch were in effect Tuesday morning as Tropical Storm Edouard strengthened and made its way toward the U.S. Gulf Coast. The National Hurricane Center said the storm could bring near-hurricane conditions to parts of Texas and Louisiana later in the day.<\/p>\n<p>Rain and wind were already lashing Port Arthur, Texas, early Tuesday morning, but things were expected to intensify as the day goes on.<\/p>\n<p>The Hurricane Center said in an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhc.noaa.gov\/refresh\/graphics_at5+shtml\/010845.shtml?key_messages#contents\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">early morning update<\/a> that Edouard &#8220;could approach hurricane strength before it reaches the northwest Gulf coast later today.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Maps show storm&#8217;s path and forecast<\/p>\n<p>Strong thunderstorms were expected to bring wind gusts up to 45 miles per hour and to dump heavy rain, with 3 to 6 inches expected across Texas, and some areas possibly getting up to 9.<\/p>\n<p>      <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/edouard-map-path.jpg#.jpeg\" alt=\"edouard-map-path.jpg \" height=\"349\" width=\"620\" class=\" lazyload\"  loading=\"lazy\"\/><\/p>\n<p>                  Map shows the path of Tropical Storm Edouard, which is forecast to hit the Gulf Coast of Texas and Louisiana on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>                CBS News<\/p>\n<p>A tropical storm warning is in effect from Texas&#8217;
