German
\nspacetech HyImpulse<\/a> has raised more than \u20ac50 million in a Series A extension to
\nadvance its suborbital and orbital launch systems and expand its production and
\ncommercial operations. The round was co-led by JOIN Capital<\/a> and Ace Capital Partners<\/a>, with participation from new investors North Ventures, BW-Capital,
\nBayern Kapital and the German Aerospace Center (DLR). Existing shareholder
\nCampus Founders Ventures also participated.<\/p>\n

HyImpulse
\ndevelops launch services based on its proprietary hybrid propulsion technology
\nfor suborbital and orbital missions. The system combines paraffin-based fuel
\nwith liquid oxygen and is designed with fewer components and lower system
\ncomplexity than conventional liquid-fuel propulsion systems.<\/p>\n

The
\ncompany currently operates the SR75, a suborbital launch vehicle designed for
\nresearch, testing and defence applications. Following its inaugural flight
\ncampaign at the Koonibba Test Range in South Australia in 2024, HyImpulse is
\npreparing a second SR75 launch from SaxaVord Spaceport in Scotland by the end
\nof 2026.<\/p>\n

Alongside
\nits suborbital programme, HyImpulse is developing the SL1 orbital launch
\nvehicle for dedicated and responsive satellite launches. The company is also
\ntargeting applications including in-space mobility, hypersonic testing and
\nthreat simulation.<\/p>\n

According
\nto Christian Schmierer<\/a>, co-founder and CEO of HyImpulse<\/a>, demand for launch
\ncapabilities is growing across commercial, institutional and defence markets,
\nalongside Europe’s focus on developing independent access to space.<\/p>\n

The
\nnew capital will be used to accelerate the development and commercialisation of
\nHyImpulse’s launch services, including preparations for the next SR75 mission
\nand the maiden flight of the SL1. The company also plans to expand its
