When it comes to injuries, the Raiders have long been one of the secretive teams in the NFL when it comes to disclosing information to the public. <\/p>\n

With Klint Kubiak<\/a> in the building that dynamic hasn\u2019t changed. If anything, Kubiak might play his cards even closer to the vest.<\/p>\n

But on Wednesday, Raider Nation Radio host Q Myers said he accidentally got a video of Ashton Jeanty<\/a> working out with trainers that he wasn\u2019t supposed to get \u2013 or at least wasn\u2019t allowed to pass along. <\/p>\n

\u201cNo joke, I\u2019m filming the quarterbacks, Kirk Cousins, Fernando Mendoza and Aiden O\u2019Connell, working with the offensive line and I didn\u2019t even realize, and this is on me, I didn\u2019t even realize that in the far background, on the far field, way away from us, is Ashton Jeanty working with the trainers,\u201d Myers said on the Locked on Raiders<\/a> podcast. <\/p>\n

\u201cSo he actually ended up making his way out there for a brief amount of time, working with the trainers. And when I went back and looked at the video, and I wasn\u2019t allowed to put the video up on Twitter because the guys that are on IR, guys that aren\u2019t necessarily out there practicing or dealing with injuries, we\u2019re not supposed to be putting videos of them out there, pictures of them out there, even reporting on those guys. So all we\u2019re supposed to say is, \u2018Yeah, he\u2019s here\u2019 or \u2018He\u2019s not there.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI wasn\u2019t able to put that video up online, but [Jeanty] looked actually pretty good. There\u2019s a reason why the Raiders didn\u2019t put him on short-term IR, designate him to return, because I think he\u2019s going to be available sooner than later if it\u2019s not Miami week one, then I would expect him to be available week two against the Chargers\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

Later in the show, Myers added a few more details to the story for context\u2026<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019ll go and they\u2019ll be out there and doing their work with the trainers, but after they send us back to the media room\u2026 and I don\u2019t think that they were too happy, too thrilled that we actually saw those guys when they basically weren\u2019t supposed to be seen at that stage of the game. But like I said, Ashton Jeanty looked pretty good.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"Raiders<\/a><\/p>\n

One image of Jeanty that was passed along in the last week was a picture of him walking to the stadium before Thursday\u2019s game against the 49ers.<\/p>\n

The picture, posted on the team website, showed Jeanty wearing what looked like a thin sleeve around his right ankle \u2013 but no crutches or any other obvious supports. <\/p>\n

Jeanty back for the Raiders season opener?<\/p>\n

Former NFL team doctor David Chao commented on the above image this week and said based on what he saw from the photo, he would guess that Jeanty will be ready for the season opener on September 13.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel better about Jeanty right now,\u201d Chao said on Monday<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd the reason why is he wasn\u2019t in a boot, wasn\u2019t on crutches, he didn\u2019t have a visible limp. Yes, there was some tape on his shoe or his sock underneath [on] Thursday, a few days ago, to the preseason game. The next game is two and a half weeks from that date. I think he\u2019s going to be there.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chao didn\u2019t reference any inside information but based on everything that has been reported, there is good reason to believe Jeanty will be close to full strength or at full strength by the start of the season.<\/p>\n
