AC Milan failed in a late attempt to sign Goncalo Inacio from Sporting CP but they are expected to try again.<\/p>\n

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below), it\u2019s clear that Milan \u2013 led by a new Gerry Cardinale in direct command of operations \u2013 have completely changed their negotiating approach compared to recent seasons.<\/p>\n

This was demonstrated by the signings of Goncalo Ramos, Mario Gila, and Diego Moreira, three players the club considers ready to make a difference immediately. They cost a lot, but there is no longer room for cheap players.<\/p>\n

This is Cardinale\u2019s vision and it will continue to be pursued in the future, starting with the defender who hasn\u2019t arrived but for whom they will try again in January.<\/p>\n

The paper reveal that Milan were very close to signing Gon\u00e7alo Inacio in the final 48 hours of the transfer window. Since Ruben Amorim\u2019s first days at the club, the Sporting centre-back has been considered one of the main targets for the defence.<\/p>\n

The coach knows him well and wanted to reunite with him<\/a>, so much so that a \u20ac40m offer was made in the last few hours, which Sporting accepted. However, the Portuguese club made it clear they had to find a suitable replacement first.<\/p>\n

This last condition was not met, and so the deal fell through. Or rather, it was shelved \u2013 because despite Fikayo Tomori\u2019s reinstatement \u2013 Cardinale\u2019s plan is to go back in for Inacio when the window reopens.<\/p>\n
