The Federal Aviation Administration issued a ground stop<\/a> at a South Florida airport.<\/p>\n The FAA issued a ground stop at Miami International Airport on Sunday, Sept. 6, because of a disabled aircraft on the runway.<\/p>\n The FAA database notes the ground stop was effective at 1:43 p.m.<\/p>\n According to ABC affiliate station WSVN-TV ABC Miami<\/a>, all departures from the airport were stopped after a purported video captured the aftermath of an aircraft with an Amazon logo off the runway.<\/p>\n Courtesy: Alvaro Maldonado<\/p>\n The Federal Aviation Administration issued a ground stop at Miami International Airport on Sunday afternoon due to a disabled aircraft.<\/p>\n “We can confirm that an Amazon Air plane operated by 21 Air experienced an incident while attempting to land at Miami International Airport today,” Kelly Nantel, an Amazon spokesperson told WPBF 25 News Sunday afternoon in a statement. “This is a fast-moving situation and we’re still gathering details. We’re working closely with local authorities and officials to understand exactly what happened. Right now, our absolute priority is the safety, well-being, and care of everyone involved. (Photo by Joe Raedle\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n An FAA spokesperson provided WPBF 25 News the following preliminary information:<\/p>\n 21 Air Flight 7598 overran the runway after landing at Miami International Airport around 2 p.m. local time on Sunday, Sept. 6. <\/p>\n The Boeing 767-300 cargo aircraft departed from Luis Mu\u00f1oz Mar\u00edn International Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The FAA will investigate. Contact the airline for additional information.<\/p>\n Miami International Airport released the following statement: All MIA runways and taxiways are currently closed, and a full ground stop is in effect.
