{"id":840015,"date":"2026-09-08T00:20:08","date_gmt":"2026-09-08T00:20:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/840015\/"},"modified":"2026-09-08T00:20:08","modified_gmt":"2026-09-08T00:20:08","slug":"missing-teen-swimmer-at-falls-lake-on-labor-day-part-of-sandling-beach-closed-wral-com","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/840015\/","title":{"rendered":"Missing teen swimmer at Falls Lake on Labor Day; part of Sandling Beach closed :: WRAL.com"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A drowning was reported at Falls Lake on Monday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>WRAL&#8217;s Breaking News Tracker is at the lake, and volunteers are working with first responders to help search the beach for a missing teenage male.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Park officials told WRAL a section of the beach was closed, but there are still many people swimming in the lake as crews search the area in boats and on foot.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Several witnesses were seen holding hands and forming a chain to enter the water and look for the swimmer.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Wake County Sheriff&#8217;s Department responded around 2:30 p.m. to reports of a swimmer drowning near the 14600 block of Creedmoor Road, near Sandling Beach.<\/p>\n<p>Multiple agencies responded to the call, including Wake County EMS, Northern Wake Fire Department, and Wake Forest Fire Department.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A drowning was reported at Falls Lake on Monday afternoon.
