opened to much fanfare in October<\/a> as one of the anchors of Area15\u2019s new Zone 2. The attraction simulated the 11-light-year journey from Earth to Arcadia aboard a sprawling spaceship.<\/p>\nVR fans noticed last month that Interstellar Arc had stopped selling tickets. It has since closed its doors as part of the ongoing financial problems of its parent company, the Emmy-winning Felix & Paul Studios founded by F\u00e9lix Lajeunesse and Paul Rapha\u00ebl.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat I\u2019d say is, it\u2019s done. There are discussions to see if there\u2019s ways to reopen it,\u201d Area15 CEO Winston Fisher said Tuesday. \u201cWe hope to have updates for you in the next week or two.\u201d<\/p>\n
Fisher also provided an update on the Area15 space that previously housed Illuminarium.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s being redeveloped as we talk. We\u2019re very excited,\u201d he said. \u201cNext year, there will be something there.\u201d<\/p>\n
The 360-degree venue, which presented shows such as the rock photo retrospective \u201cAmplified,\u201d closed in March.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was a really cool experience, and then it ran its course,\u201d Fisher said. \u201cAnother experience is coming which I think is going to just blow people\u2019s minds. \u2026 It\u2019s a big experience coming. It\u2019s going to be super cool for the campus.\u201d<\/p>\n
