New data shows that young men who recently graduated from college are having a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/business\/economy\/young-men-struggling-slowing-job-market-college-degree-rcna224482\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">rough time<\/a> finding a job, with the unemployment rate for men aged 23 to 30 hovering around 6%\u2014higher than the 3.5% rate for young women and the 4.2% rate for the entire US last month.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__StyledText-sc-1ef9199a-8 zNSXu\">Overall, the job market for new grads isn\u2019t great\u2026except in a few key areas. Healthcare, hospitality, and education\u2014all dominated by women\u2014were the few fields that showed job growth during the last six months. Meanwhile, male-dominated industries like business and tech have had mass layoffs and hiring freezes:<\/p>\n<p>Young men with a college degree are now slightly more likely to be unemployed than those without one, reversing a decades-long trend.Even though young women might be locking down work in more stable industries, those fields typically <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/gen-z-men-are-more-unemployed-than-women-healthcare-tech-2025-8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">pay less<\/a>.
