That ties the record for the most nods in one year by a female artist. That record was first set by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/artist\/miranda-lambert\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/artist\/miranda-lambert\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Miranda Lambert<\/a> in 2010 and then matched by Lambert in 2014 and equaled by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/artist\/lainey-wilson\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/artist\/lainey-wilson\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Lainey Wilson <\/a>in 2023. These tallies are just one off the all-time record of 10, set by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/artist\/alan-jackson\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/artist\/alan-jackson\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Alan Jackson<\/a> in 2002.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tOther top 2026 nominees are Lambert with seven nods; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/artist\/kacey-musgraves\/chart-history\/tlp\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/artist\/kacey-musgraves\/chart-history\/tlp\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Kacey Musgraves<\/a> and Ben West with five each; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/artist\/cody-johnson\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/artist\/cody-johnson\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Cody Johnson<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/artist\/chris-stapleton\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/artist\/chris-stapleton\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Chris Stapleton<\/a> and<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/artist\/stephen-wilson-jr\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/artist\/stephen-wilson-jr\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> Stephen Wilson Jr.<\/a> with four each; and Dave Clauss, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/artist\/luke-combs\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/artist\/luke-combs\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Luke Combs<\/a> and Wilson with three each.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tVying for the night\u2019s highest honor, entertainer of the year, are Combs, Johnson, Langley, Stapleton and Wilson.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tLangley\u2019s \u201cChoosin\u2019 Texas,\u201d which has logged 21 weeks at No. 1 on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/charts\/hot-100\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Billboard Hot 100<\/a>, more than any other non-holiday hit in the chart\u2019s 68-year history, is this year\u2019s only work that is nominated for single, song and music video of the year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tFemale artists account for four of the five nominees for single of the year for the first time in CMA history. Langley is nominated for both \u201cChoosin\u2019 Texas\u201d and \u201cBe Her.\u201d She\u2019s just the eighth artist in CMA history to have two nominations in the same year in that category. She\u2019s the first to do it since Wilson scored in 2023 with \u201cHeart Like a Truck\u201d and HARDY\u2019s \u201cWait in the Truck,\u201d on which she was featured.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tTaylor Swift\u2019s \u201cI Knew It, I Knew You\u201d and Wilson\u2019s \u201cSomewhere Over Laredo\u201d are also nominated in the category, along with one single by a male artist \u2013 Cody Johnson\u2019s \u201cThe Fall.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tFun Fact: \u201cI Knew It, I Knew You\u201d appears to be the front-runner to win the Oscar for best original song. \u201cSomewhere Over Laredo\u201d interpolates the melody of \u201cOver the Rainbow\u201d from The Wizard of Oz, which won in that category in 1940.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tJay Joyce produced \u201cSomewhere Over Laredo.\u201d It\u2019s his 14th nomination for single of the year, which puts him second only to Tony Brown for the most nominations in that category as a producer. Brown, who was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2025, has had 16.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tMiranda Lambert lands her 19th nomination for female vocalist of the year, which surpasses Reba McEntire for the most nominations in that category. McEntire tallied 18 from 1983 to 2017.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tShane McAnally is nominated for song of the year for cowriting Musgraves\u2019 witty \u201cDry Spell.\u201d It\u2019s his 11th nomination in the category, which enables him to break out of a tie for the most nods in the category with Alan Jackson (10). Jackson won twice in the category, for \u201cChattahoochee\u201d and \u201cWhere Were You (When the World Stopped Turning).\u201d McAnally has so far won just once, for co-writing Musgraves\u2019 \u201cFollow Your Arrow.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tLittle Big Town now has the longest consecutive streak of nominations for vocal group of the year. They have been on the final ballot every year since 2006\u201421 years in a row.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThis year\u2019s nominees for new artist of the year are Avery Anna, Carter Faith, Emily Ann Roberts, Tucker Wetmore and Stephen Wilson Jr. It\u2019s the second year in a row that Wetmore and Wilson have been nominated in the category. Wilson will become the first female artist to solo-host the show twice.
