The Canadian prodigy has wowed spectators during her breakout 2025 season. After starting the season ranked 300 in the world, Mboko<\/a> went on a 22-match win streak, picking up four ITF titles in the process.<\/p>\n Mboko, who is not competing in this week\u2019s Cincinnati Open<\/a>, will look ahead to the US Open, where she could be a surprise contender<\/a>.<\/p>\n One famous coach, who often discusses the current affairs of tennis, has weighed in on Victoria Mboko\u2019s ability after her historic victory at the Canadian Open.<\/p>\n Patrick Mouratoglou says Mboko\u2019s number one asset is \u2018she has no respect\u2019 for her opponent\u2019s status<\/p>\n Patrick Mouratoglou<\/a>, who coached tennis legend Serena Williams<\/a> between 2012 and 2022, has pinpointed Victoria Mboko\u2019s \u2018number one asset.\u2019<\/p>\n Mouratoglou says that Mboko has \u2018no respect\u2019 for other players. However, he was quick to point out that this doesn\u2019t mean the Canadian is disrespectful, but rather she does not show players too much respect, regardless of their standing in the game.<\/p>\n Speaking on Instagram, Mouratoglou said: \u201cNumber one asset of Victoria Mboko, she has no respect.<\/p>\n \u201cIt doesn\u2019t mean that she\u2019s disrespectful. It means that she doesn\u2019t look up to players thinking \u2018wow! I cannot beat that player. I\u2019m not here yet.\u2019<\/p>\n \u201cNo, she plays to win, whoever is on the other side of the court.<\/p>\n \u201cShe started this year ranked 300.<\/p>\n \u201cDifficult to think that she\u2019s not going to win Grand Slams. Great physicality, the way she moves on the court, and she\u2019s very offensive.<\/p>\n \u201cBoth sides, forehand, backhand, she controls the court and she has this aura. The year before she was playing challengers and she was winning a lot.<\/p>\n \u201cShe goes there to win and she does. That\u2019s the biggest message she sends, besides all the other qualities she has.\u201d<\/p>\n Will Victoria Mboko win the US Open?<\/p>\n The question is not whether Victoria Mboko can win the US Open<\/a>, it is whether she will.<\/p>\n Mboko has showcased her ability to compete, and win against, the greatest WTA players in the game. Her 6-1 6-4 victory over Coco Gauff<\/a> in Canada demonstrated this fact.<\/p>\n She has also demonstrated an ability to win consistently over a two-week event. The Canadian Open was expanded to a 15-day event this year, with Mboko playing the same amount of matches that she would in a Grand Slam: seven.<\/p>\n Stranger things have happened at the US Open.
