The images, which UploadVR says were \u201cfound in the HorizonOS Prescription Lens firmware package,\u201d suggest Meta may be looking to compete with devices like those from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/tech\/963465\/xreal-a01-plus-xbx-ar-glasses-hands-on\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Xreal<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/tech\/975870\/viture-pro-2-video-ar-smart-glasses-hands-on\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Viture<\/a>. These companies\u2019 mixed reality glasses are a bit bulkier than something like Meta\u2019s Ray-Ban AI smart glasses, but a step down from a full VR headset like Meta\u2019s Quest 3.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">This leak shows something that\u2019s almost in between larger headsets and smart glasses, with lenses set into a slim, glasses-style frame. A shot from behind shows a wire extending from one of the earpieces, possibly for a battery or compute puck. There also appear to be outward- and downward-facing cameras in the earpieces.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">Project Phoenix has been in the works for a while now, and isn\u2019t expected to launch <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/news\/839728\/meta-delaying-phoenix-mixed-reality-glasses\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">until next year<\/a>.
