BYU dipped into the Ridgeline High pipeline again for another wide receiver prospect.<\/p>\n
On Friday morning, senior Riverhawk Owen Leishman committed to Kalani Sitake\u2019s program.<\/p>\n
Who is Owen Leishman?<\/p>\n
Leishman is a 6-foot-2, 210-pound receiver for Ridgeline High in Millville.<\/p>\n
He is rated a three-star recruit with a 0.8500 rating in 247Sports\u2019 composite ratings<\/a>, and the No. 28 overall talent in the state of Utah in the 2027 recruiting class.<\/p>\n It\u2019s the second straight year that BYU has received a commitment from a Ridgeline High receiver. <\/p>\n Graham Livingston was part of the Cougars\u2019 2026 class after starring for the Riverhawks, and is currently serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Spain.<\/p>\n Leishman has 18 receptions for 340 yards and three touchdowns<\/a> through four games, as Ridgeline is off to a 4-0 start in 2026. That included a two-touchdown, 100-yard game against Brighton two weeks ago.<\/p>\n The Riverhawks won the Class 4A state title last season, capping an unbeaten year with a 56-0 win over Green Canyon in the championship game<\/a>. During that season, Leishman caught 22 passes for 509 yards and nine touchdowns.<\/p>\n How does Owen Leishman fit into BYU\u2019s 2027 recruiting class?<\/p>\n Leishman is the latest wide receiver commit for the Cougars, joining four-star prospect Blake Wong<\/a> out of California and Salem Hills\u2019 Peyton Higginson<\/a>, a two-way player who stars at both receiver and safety.<\/p>\n With Leishman\u2019s pledge, BYU has now 16 commits<\/a> for its 2027 class.<\/p>\n The Cougars went heavy on receiving targets in their 2026 high school class, with five receivers and three tight ends. <\/p>\n
