Geese<\/a> frontman Cameron Winter<\/a> has confirmed he\u2019s working on a new solo project.<\/p>\n

Winter\u2019s debut solo album \u2018Heavy Metal\u2019 came out in 2024, and since then he\u2019s released\u00a0\u2018Getting Killed\u2019<\/a> with Geese, which was named NME\u2018s Number One record of 2025<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Now, he\u2019s revealed that a new solo project is in the works \u2013 but that progress on it has been \u201chard\u201d.\u00a0During a new interview with\u00a0Rolling Stone<\/a>, Winter opened up about the process.<\/p>\n

\u201cI used to write songs with interesting, difficult almost, chords in them, and now it\u2019s like I-IV-V until the cows come home,\u201d Winter said. \u201cIt\u2019s actually getting worse and worse. It\u2019s like the fucking rut is getting deeper and deeper, because then I do a ii chord, and I\u2019m just like, \u2018Ew. What are you, fucking Keith Jarrett, you piece of shit?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

He went on to say that he\u2019s played songs from the album to a few other people, but added: \u201cI stopped doing it because I think it just is not useful for me. I think most people that I\u2019ve played it to, they kind of furrow their brow a little bit and they\u2019re just like, \u2018So is this\u2026 This is going on the record then? This is one of those songs?’\u201d<\/p>\n

Winter continued: \u201cI don\u2019t think anyone\u2019s really liked it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Speaking to NME in 2024 ahead of the release of \u2018Heavy Metal\u2019<\/a>, Winter opened up about his decision to work outside of the band.<\/p>\n

\u201cI got a lot of advice that it was too early to \u2018go solo\u2019, probably because most people feel that \u2018solo albums\u2019 come once a band is basically over the hill and that they\u2019re usually uninspired cash grabs, but rest assured, my solo album is unique, because barely anybody knows who my band is, I\u2019m young and not afraid of living with my parents and I\u2019m free to chase whatever ideas I want,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere in the new\u00a0Rolling Stone\u00a0interview,\u00a0Geese responded to the \u201cpsyop\u201d allegations they have faced of late<\/a>, and responded to the backlash surrounding the band\u2019s Saturday Night Live performance<\/a>, with Winter saying the reaction \u201cdepressed the shit out of [him]\u201d.<\/p>\n

In other news, Winter is set to release his first live album and concert film \u2013 directed by Paul Thomas Anderson \u2013 capturing his solo gig at Carnegie Hall<\/a>.<\/p>\n
