(WDBJ) &#8211; The Town of Chatham has declared a Stage 2 Water Emergency &#8211; Drought Warning as of September 10, 2026, according to Pittsylvania County officials. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The county says all Town of Chatham water users are urged to implement water conservation methods as soon as possible. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The declaration is due to a current lack of rainfall, drought-like conditions persisting for most of 2026, and falling water levels at Cherrystone Lake and Roaring Fork Lake reservoirs. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">More information can be found at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chatham-va.gov\/?fbclid=IwcGRvZgFleHRuA2FlbQIxMABicmlkETFaUnBlVlBMeGdNOVVSdmNKc3J0YwZhcHBfaWQQMjIyMDM5MTc4ODIwMDg5MgABHrqTBThvLg65U_iJENY7jWRO_ZSLGzcd_khhdRcFMIgejdEYvUwdHZwpCPpf_aem_pOaVl6VDnAmJ6FLzNMDbkw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">chatham-va.gov<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Pittsylvania County says, \u201cChatham will remain under a Stage 2 Water Emergency until the drought abates, lake water levels rise to sufficient levels, or a Stage 3 or 4 declaration is issued.
