{"id":845579,"date":"2026-09-12T19:32:18","date_gmt":"2026-09-12T19:32:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/845579\/"},"modified":"2026-09-12T19:32:18","modified_gmt":"2026-09-12T19:32:18","slug":"urgent-nationwide-recall-issued-for-common-painkiller-daily-hive","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/845579\/","title":{"rendered":"Urgent nationwide recall issued for common painkiller | Daily Hive"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>If you recently bought a bottle of painkillers, you may want to check your medicine cabinet after a nationwide recall was issued in Canada.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, Health Canada published a recall <a href=\"https:\/\/recalls-rappels.canada.ca\/en\/alert-recall\/generic-acetaminophen-teva-recalled-because-it-may-contain-foreign-material\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">notice<\/a> for one lot of a common painkiller, stating that it may be contaminated with foreign material.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTeva Canada Limited is recalling one lot of the non-prescription drug Novo-Gesic Forte 500 mg (acetaminophen) due to the potential presence of phenolic resin or epoxy, which, if ingested, may cause injury to the digestive system,\u201d reads the statement.<\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"recall\" title=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1748\" height=\"1133\" decoding=\"async\" data-nimg=\"1\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2310512\" style=\"color:transparent\"   src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/recall-1-e1789143674969.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-2310512\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Health Canada<\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"recall\" title=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"346\" height=\"271\" decoding=\"async\" data-nimg=\"1\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2310515\" style=\"color:transparent\"   src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/caplet.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-2310515\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Health Canada<\/p>\n<p>The affected lot was sold in bottles with the Drug Identification Number (DIN) 00482323 and lot number 100083040. It also has an expiration date of Jan. 31, 2029. Pharmacies received the recalled drug in 1,000-count bottles and dispensed it to patients in smaller quantities.<\/p>\n<p>If you have the recalled product, immediately stop using it and return it to your local pharmacy so that it can be properly disposed of and to receive a replacement. Make sure to check with your pharmacy.<\/p>\n<p>Canadians are urged to report any possible <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/health-canada\/services\/drugs-health-products\/medeffect-canada\/adverse-reaction-reporting.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">side effects<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/health-canada\/services\/drugs-health-products\/compliance-enforcement\/problem-reporting\/health-product-complaint-process-summary.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">complaints<\/a> to Health Canada.
