Sophie Cunningham has spent the summer showing she is willing to speak on one of the WNBA\u2019s most divisive subjects. She is not, however, volunteering to become a supporting character in someone else\u2019s spectacle.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m trying to just really dial in and keep the main thing the main thing.\u201d<\/p>\n That distinction matters because Kanter Freedom has repeatedly invoked Cunningham<\/a> while escalating his protest of the league\u2019s transgender eligibility language. He attended Indiana\u2019s Aug. 23 game in Chicago wearing a shirt defining a woman as an \u201cadult human female\u201d before being ejected following an exchange<\/a> with Sky guard Natasha Cloud.<\/p>\n Kanter Freedom, who has publicly called Cunningham \u201cmy friend,\u201d later said she texted him, \u201cWhat happened?\u201d Cunningham has not confirmed his account or publicly joined his broader campaign.<\/p>\n
