{"id":848239,"date":"2026-09-15T04:34:41","date_gmt":"2026-09-15T04:34:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/848239\/"},"modified":"2026-09-15T04:34:41","modified_gmt":"2026-09-15T04:34:41","slug":"d2c-fashion-brand-theater-raises-rs-75-crore-in-series-a-funding-led-by-niveshaay","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/848239\/","title":{"rendered":"D2C Fashion brand Theater raises Rs 75 crore in Series A funding led by Niveshaay"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">D2C <a href=\"https:\/\/indianstartupnews.com\/tag\/fashion\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">fashion<\/a> and accessories brand Theater has raised Rs 75 crore in a Series A funding round led by <a href=\"https:\/\/indianstartupnews.com\/tag\/investment\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">investment<\/a> firm Niveshaay, with participation from new <a href=\"https:\/\/indianstartupnews.com\/tag\/investor\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">investor<\/a> Physis Capital and existing investor Prath Ventures.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisment<a href=\"https:\/\/theindiandream.club\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/1789446881_390_desktop-728-x-90-1-2026-06-17-17-20-35.png\" style=\"object-fit: cover;width:728px;height:90px;\" alt=\"banner\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The funding values Theater at about Rs 410 crore on a post-money basis.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The startup plans to use the fresh capital to expand its offline retail presence and invest in brand-building initiatives, including marketing campaigns and celebrity partnerships.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Founded in 2021 by Sarthak Aggarwal, Vikram Jain, Karan Jain and Shruti Aggarwal, Theater offers products including footwear, stockings, bags and perfumes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The startup positions itself as a design-led, mass-premium fashion brand, targeting consumers seeking products between mass-market offerings and imported luxury labels.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">\u201cWe started Theater because we couldn\u2019t find beautiful, well-made accessories in India that weren\u2019t either a luxury import or a compromise,\u201d co-founder and CEO Sarthak Aggarwal said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">\u201cSo we decided to build them ourselves &#8211; made in India and priced for a generation that cares deeply about design but doesn\u2019t want to pay luxury prices,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Theater plans to combine its digital-first business with a growing physical retail presence as it seeks to expand its reach across India.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Co-founder Vikram Jain said the company\u2019s growth showed that consumers were willing to pay for differentiated products rather than make purchasing decisions solely on discounts.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">\u201cWe\u2019ve heard for years that design doesn\u2019t scale, and that Indian consumers will always choose discounts over differentiation. Our growth has told us otherwise. Consumers are willing to pay for products that have a point of view, and Theater is proof that taste can be a business model,\u201d Jain said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Niveshaay founder Arvind Kothari said the investment was driven by Theater\u2019s focus on design-led products in categories where organised options remain limited.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">\u201cAt Niveshaay, we back category-creating brands that address clear market gaps and have strong consumer pull. Footwear, stockings and bags remain largely unorganised, with limited design-led options for the aspirational Indian woman.
