Matt Donohue and his assistant, Blake Antrobus, have been told by Pro Ref they have not received appointments for this weekend\u2019s round of Premier League fixtures.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-1s160rg\">Howard Webb, the chief \u00adrefereeing officer, took the decision with his management team after a review of the weekend\u2019s action. Their availa\u00adbility will be reconsidered after the international break.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-1s160rg\">Donohue was called on to check Michael Oliver\u2019s decision to \u00addisallow Haaland\u2019s 60th-minute goal for offside. Using semi-automated \u00adoffside technology, Donohue was able to establish that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/football\/manchestercity\" data-link-name=\"in body link\" data-component=\"auto-linked-tag\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Manchester City<\/a> striker was onside and he overturned \u00adOliver\u2019s call. But he failed to spot Enzo Fern\u00e1ndez had \u00adinfluenced play from an offside position, an \u00adinfringement which Pro\u00a0Ref said should have led him to recommend an on-field review.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-1s160rg\">This is the first time officials have been made to stand down this season owing to an error. Donohue, an EFL referee since 2018, has taken charge of three Championship matches this season as well as his VAR work.
