With a U.S. launch event coming later this month, Speediance used the floor in Berlin to show how far it has evolved. <\/p>\n
In just two years, it has grown from the company behind one breakout product, the Gym Monster 2<\/a>, into an AI-powered fitness company with a portfolio built for different users and training environments.<\/p>\n At the center of that case is the Gym Monster 3<\/a>, and mark my words, it\u2019s going to move this market into the future.<\/p>\n But the bigger story at IFA<\/a> was how the Gym Monster 3, Gym Monster Ultra<\/a> and Gym Nano<\/a> now work as parts of one expanding ecosystem \u2014 connected by AI rather than simply collected in a product lineup.<\/p>\n What is the Speediance Gym Monster 3?<\/p>\n The Speediance Gym Monster 3 is the machine people kept stopping for and capturing content of in the fitness tech and wellbeing hall, and, as someone moving back to a small apartment in the near future, I spent a good chunk of my time there too.<\/p>\n Built as an all-in-one home strength platform, it packs professional-grade hardware into a freestanding, foldable unit that needs a training area of less than 2.5 feet by 4 feet unfolded, about the size of a standard coffee table. Folded, it\u2019s closer to an end table.<\/p>\n If you\u2019ve ever tried to make a home gym work anywhere other than a suburban basement, you know that matters more than the spec sheet does. But, the specs are no joke:<\/p>\n Up to 220 pounds of digital resistance, adjustable in one-pound increments, so progress gets measured instead of estimated.<\/p>\n Four training modes: Standard, Eccentric, Chain and Fixed Speed. Eccentric was seriously impressive to watch in action.<\/p>\n A nearly 24-inch touchscreen paired with an AI coach that assesses your movement in three dimensions, in real time.<\/p>\n No assembly. No installation, no drilling, no wall mounting. It works straight out of the box.<\/p>\n Instead of playing a generic workout video at you, the AI tracks your baseline, personalizes the routine and adjusts the weight mid-rep if it senses you struggling. I watched it in action.<\/p>\n That combination is what makes the Gym Monster 3 convincing: the large screen, real-time movement assessment and adaptive resistance create an immersive coaching experience in which the intelligence feels built into the workout, not added on as another software feature.<\/p>\n Who is the Gym Monster Ultra for?<\/p>\n The Gym Monster Ultra is designed for advanced lifters who want the best-in-class machinery and won\u2019t compromise on mechanics.<\/p>\n The Ultra dials up the digital resistance from 220 up to 260 pounds, but the number isn\u2019t really the story. The structure is.<\/p>\n There\u2019s an integrated multi-grip pull-up station and a true vertical high-lat pulldown with a dedicated thigh restraint. That\u2019s a serious piece of equipment, not a cutesy cable machine.<\/p>\n Nine training stations total, sitting on a platform that\u2019s 64% larger for split-stance work. Like its sibling, it stays freestanding, and it folds down to roughly the footprint of a washing machine, about 2.5 by 2.5 feet.<\/p>\n \u201cIt looks like a small monster, but it performs like a giant monster.\u201d<\/p>\n Hongbo Wei, Speediance\u2019s head of brand and global operations<\/p>\n Gym Nano and the broader ecosystem<\/p>\n The Gym Nano shows that Speediance\u2019s ambition is no longer limited to one flagship format or one place to train.<\/p>\n The Gym Nano delivers on the name. It\u2019s built for hybrid athletes and traveling coaches, but it works for anyone who doesn\u2019t have a room to give up.<\/p>\n This device is smaller than a yoga mat (rolled up, that is) and only weighs 18 pounds. For the weight of a watermelon and a footprint you\u2019d step over without even noticing, you get up to 220 pounds of direct-drive resistance, a cable just shy of 17 feet and speeds up to 21 feet per second for sprint, jump or sled-style conditioning.<\/p>\n All that, and it clips onto any standard rack in seconds, which is enough to turn a garage or a hotel gym into a velocity-based training setup.<\/p>\n \u201cIt looks like a small monster, but it performs like a giant monster,\u201d Hongbo Wei<\/a>, Speediance\u2019s head of brand and global operations, told me on the floor in Berlin.<\/p>\n He sees it going to trainers, therapists and studios as much as to those training at home. In other words, the Nano is the product that takes Speediance beyond the living room \u2014 portable enough to travel, but powerful enough to serve professional training environments.<\/p>\n From one smart gym to an AI-powered fitness ecosystem<\/p>\n Wei\u2019s framing for the whole lineup is a company moving past the thing it got famous for.<\/p>\n \u201cTwo years ago, the only thing we had was Gym Monster 2,\u201d he said. \u201cBut now we are more than building a smart home gym. We go beyond the home.\u201d<\/p>\n That evolution is not simply about adding more machines. AI connects the portfolio by bringing together the equipment, the user\u2019s training history and personalized guidance in a continuous care loop.<\/p>\n Each product can meet a different training need, while the intelligence across the ecosystem helps understand what the user has done and what should come next.<\/p>\n Seen that way, Gym Monster 3, Gym Monster Ultra and Gym Nano are not three unrelated hardware launches. They are three entry points into the same system \u2014 from immersive home coaching, to uncompromised strength training, to portable performance for coaches, therapists and studios.<\/p>\n That is the shift Wei wants the industry to see. Speediance\u2019s first chapter was proving that one intelligent machine could change at-home strength training. Next is building a full AI-powered portfolio that can make training more connected, more personal and more continuous wherever it happens.<\/p>\n The Gym Monster 3<\/a> may have been the most convincing thing I saw on the floor at IFA 2026.
