{"id":848343,"date":"2026-09-15T06:48:12","date_gmt":"2026-09-15T06:48:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/848343\/"},"modified":"2026-09-15T06:48:12","modified_gmt":"2026-09-15T06:48:12","slug":"james-franklin-adamantly-needed-to-know-how-a-reporter-was-doing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/848343\/","title":{"rendered":"James Franklin adamantly needed to know how a reporter was doing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Earlier this year, James Franklin lamented that he didn\u2019t do a good enough job <a href=\"https:\/\/awfulannouncing.com\/college-football\/james-franklin-couldve-spent-more-time-local-media-penn-state.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">getting to know the local media<\/a> at Penn State, implying he wanted to make up for it in his new role as Virginia Tech\u2019s head football coach.<\/p>\n<p>And he\u2019s not taking no for an answer.<\/p>\n<p>The Hokies improved to 2-0 last weekend with a win over Old Dominion, and Franklin met with the media on Monday to discuss that and their upcoming game against Maryland.<\/p>\n<p>During the presser, Baltimore Sun sports reporter Michael Howes introduced himself, and Franklin responded, saying, \u201cHey, Michael.\u201d Howes then launched into his question, but the coach apparently didn\u2019t get the response he was looking for and said, \u201cHey, Michael\u201d again. And again. They eventually worked it out, and the reporter was able to ask his question.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">James Franklin really wanted to know how my day was this morning.<\/p>\n<p>Couldn\u2019t see him on Zoom and thought the audio was glitching.
