PRESIDENT, and the U.S.A. has that, in spades!\u201d Trump wrote on Truth Social, where he frequently posts AI-generated images and videos of himself.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-elevate inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph_elevate\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmu1eqnt100073b6qsi5gvic7@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            He said the administration had already prevented AI companies from doing \u201cbad, or potentially bad, \u2018things,\u2019\u201d and singled out Amodei for \u201cnow pretending to be a \u2018perfect little angel.\u2019\u201d\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-elevate inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph_elevate\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmu1ooj7t001t3b6qo76dhj7y@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            Later Monday, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/benitoz\/status\/2099572926865715548?s=46\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Trump called Huang<\/a>, who has been publicly skeptical about AI doomsday predictions, while the tech leader was speaking a summit in Los Angeles. House Speaker Mike Johnson, speaking Sunday, said he hoped to convene talks with Trump, lawmakers and AI executives to plot a path forward. He said Monday that meeting would probably occur in a week or two, though he cautioned against a rush for congressional action.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-elevate inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph_elevate\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmu1moead000a3b6ryeme3nl5@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            \u201cThere\u2019ll be a deliberate discussion about the responsibility of the companies to maintain safety and what role, if any, the government has to play in that. But again, we do not want to jump in,\u201d the Louisiana Republican said. \u201cThe reflex of legislative bodies is to cover things up with red tape and hyper-regulation. If you do that, then you lose your edge, and that is a national security concern for the American people.\u201d\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-elevate inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph_elevate\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmu1q0jni00153b6ro2mtxluj@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            Senate Majority Leader John Thune similarly said he believes there should be \u201cguardrails\u201d for AI to ensure safety but prefers a \u201clight touch\u201d from Washington so the US stays competitive with China.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-elevate inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph_elevate\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmu1vzqpb00003b6rdc319rbx@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            While there is broad agreement from many lawmakers that AI could use basic regulation, they recognize that they face an uphill battle to get something done soon. Sen. Bernie Sanders said Monday that Congress is \u201cat best, a slow-moving institution. But I would hope that we rise to the occasion.\u201d\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-elevate inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph_elevate\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmu1wc3m9000f3b6rbuksuo7d@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            Republican Sen.
